The warhammer news heavy hitter this week was word from Mark Jacobs that a Warhammer Public Test Server was launching. Why does it need a Warhammer Test Server? As the preview notes for Warhammer Patch 1.0.5 show us, sweeping warhammer class changes are coming and Mythic wants you to try them out before they are officially released to the Live servers. As of this past Friday, the Warhammer Test Server is up and ready for service. All you need to do to warhammer launch Test is find the testpatch.exe file in your main Warhammer Online folder, double-click and let it load the patcher; no extra folder creation is necessary. You won't have to create a whole new character on Test, you may easily copy over your current characters by logging in to your Mythic Account Management page, and choose the Character Copy button on the bottom of the Character Transfer page.

Last week saw the end of the warhammer Halloween event, known as Warhammer Witching Night in the Warhammer world. Players slashed through Spirits, Crones and Lords to earn specialized event influence. The Warhammer Public Quest awards of a ghostly potion, to a cloak with unique stats, and ending with a prized silver mask made the event worthwhile, if the crazy Open RvR battles weren't enough. Speaking of which, Brasse described her own frustration with these battles, and players who didn't seem to understand the rules that applied. Free character transfers continue, as Mythic Entertainment works to balance out the population on certain servers. Hoping to lure players to make the move, Realm Population Bonuses were put in place on several servers. A 20% increase to experience and renown is no joke, but take advantage of these bonuses quickly, as they are set to expire soon. All servers were updated with hot fixes on Tuesday and Friday, with all kinds of quest, content and bug fixes deployed.

The Warhammer Online Community delivered the humor this week. MrMatthew bemoans the tactic of flag camping in his web comic: The Best Offense is a Good Defense.
